That Kid C-G – Ice Cold [GoodMusicAllDay.com World Premier]

This is a GoodMusicAllDay.com World Premier

Undeniable talent

Here’s the newest song from That Kid C-G I am able to share with you. This song, “Ice Cold,” is one that should be in a Sprite commercial. It is too hot to pass on, since it has everything I want from a song: it’s pretty damn chill, but I can still dance to it, That Kid C-G’s lyrics are insane and his flow is fuego, the beat is beyond ill, and the hook is incredibly catchy and easy to listen to. An added reason to check this song out is that Chiddy responded “I fuccck wit it” when asked about the song. Become a fan of That Kid C-G on facebook and especially follow him on twitter.

The production was done by a guy who goes by Mudcat. The singing and everything else is all CG. Really not that much more new info at this time just good music.

J. Cole – I’m Coming Home

“This song feel like the greatest of all time coming”

A new favorite from J. Cole. “Playground” remains my favorite song of his, but this song is really good, too, and adds to my long list of J. Cole songs I really like. This is a pretty chill song with great flow and nice lyrics, as usual. The song features an unknown female singer and it a reference to Diddy’s Last Train to Paris. I’m hungry for Cole World, though… It may drop in December and has a good chance at best album of the year.

Kanye West (ft. Pete Rock, Jay-Z, Charlie Wilson, Curtis Mayfield & KiD CuDi) – The Joy

G.O.O.D. Old School Music

New Good Friday song that has a lot of soul music in it. Kanye and Jay-Z rap, Pete Rock produced the song with some words from him at the end, while KiD CuDi, Charlie Wilson, and Curtis Mayfield sing. Curtis Mayfield’s portion is actually from his song “The Makings of You.” It’s a slow, chill song that would be great to study to. Not my favorite Good Friday song, but it’s really good. Rap + old school R&B is legit. Oh, and a nice picture to stare at while the song plays.

Chiddy Bang: MTV PUSH Artist Of The Week

Chiddy Bang is getting some good attention lately and they deserve it. Over at MTV, they are the PUSH Artist of The Week! Above is a live video to “Here We Go” off The Preview. If you watch all the live videos, you can see That Kid C-G wearing a red hat and a red shirt whenever the camera looks to the right occasionally. Here’s the article:

What, exactly, is Chiddy Bang? Chiddy Bang sounds like a high-impact sound, a street movement and a sudden sensation. All those things are true. But specifically, Chiddy Bang is Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege and Noah Beresin, aka Xaphoon Jones. They’re hip-hop heads, indie-rock experts, sample savvy, instrumentalists and lyricists, and they’re about to become very very big.

Chiddy Bang went from a college campus–Chidera and Noah met at Drexel University–to must-know band among the music blog set (not to mention Kanye West, who blogged about them), which latched on to their early tracks and The Swelly Express mixtape–to mainstage must-sees at Glastonbury and Lollapalooza and guest spots on Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg’s live shows. And if it hasn’t already, Chiddy Bang’s new album, The Preview, and their upcoming The Swelly Life full-length, is about to take up permanent residence on your iPod. And we guarantee it won’t sound anything like anything you’ve already got on it.

SMKA – Caddys ft. Gripplyaz, TRIMM & A.leon Craft [Blac Waldo Remix]

Great Remix

This track was first shown to me awhile ago by Sam Tuttleman from loadedbare.com and I was on another level when I heard it so I didn’t know what it’d sound like normal and luckily it just came on shuffle again and it’s still just as classic. It’s got a Gucci Mane / Soulja Boy feel to it, which makes it sound like it should be just awful (I know not the best way to get someone to listen to the song), but somehow it works. It’s got a simple, classic beat and the flow to the beat is perfect. It’s def a song for the rap fans out there, but hopefully you all enjoy.

Kanye West – Dark Fantasy

New Single Off Of MBDTF

So after watching Kanye’s short film entitled ‘Runaway’ this is one of the tracks I was most excited for. With the line off the G.O.O.D. Music cypher of “The plan was, to drink until the pain over, but what’s worse the pain or the hangover?” and Ye’s brilliant lyricism, he masters this track. On top of the lyricism is one of his self-produced instrumentals that never cease to amaze me. Enough of me talking about my obsession with Mr. West, enjoy the track!

Mansions on the Moon – Paradise Falls [Free Mixtape]

Now the Mixtape…

10 days ago we got a taste of this mixtape when the Xaphoon Jones remix was released, and now the full 12 track tape is out. Mixed by two of my favorites, Diplo and Benzi, this tape really is a perfect blend of indie vocals and electro beats. Has a totally different feel than what you would expect from a tape with Xaphoon, Benzi, Deadmau5, and Diplo… but ina good way. I will admit you will probably have to be in the right mood to really sit down and enjoy this, but it def is a tape of something unique and different that I hope you all enjoy!

Ke$ha's Cannibal Track List: No Drake, Plenty Of Dirty Puns

Ke$ha's <i>Cannibal</i> Track List: No Drake, Plenty Of Dirty Puns: "

'Animal' remix and eight new songs feature production by Max Martin, Benny Blanco and Bangladesh.

On November 22, Ke$ha will return with Cannibal, the mini-LP/ maxi-EP 'companion' piece to her platinum-plus debut disc, Animal.

Much like Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster, Cannibal will be sold both as a standalone album and as part of a deluxe reissue of Animal. According to a press release from Ke$ha's label, RCA, there are eight new songs on the album (including smash first single 'We R Who We R') — produced by the likes of Max Martin, Benny Blanco and Bangladesh — and a new remix.

Earlier this week, a rumored track list for Cannibal began making the rounds, featuring songs like 'Rumblin',' 'Glitter and Glamour' and 'Strong,' a supposed team-up with Drake. It sounded rather promising, but, unfortunately, it was also untrue.

On Thursday (October 28), RCA sent MTV News the actual track listing for Cannibal, and while it doesn't feature any cameos by Drake (or anyone else), there is a song called — ahem — "C U Next Tuesday," which promises to be a rather interesting listen.

Other tracks include 'Sleazy,' 'Blow,' 'The Harold Song' (perhaps a spiritual sequel of sorts to the Animal track 'Stephen'?) and the pun-a-riffic 'Grow a Pear.'

In an interview earlier this month with Entertainment Weekly, Ke$ha said she aimed to create '[a] youthful and irreverent movement of the kids' with Cannibal, and describes the music on the disc as good, positive and 'fun as sh--.' And judging by the song titles alone, we're inclined to believe her.

The track list for Ke$ha's Cannibal, according to RCA Records:

» 1. 'Cannibal'

» 2. 'We R Who We R'

» 3. 'Sleazy'

» 4. 'Blow'

» 5. 'The Harold Song'

» 6. 'Crazy Beautiful Life'

» 7. 'Grow a Pear'

» 8. 'C U Next Tuesday'

» 9. 'Animal (Billboard remix)'

Katy Perry's 'Firework' Video Sends Empowering Message

Clip for Teenage Dream song dedicated to 'It Gets Better' campaign.
By Jocelyn Vena

Katy Perry in 'Firework'

Katy Perry wanted her video for 'Firework' to inspire people and she even dedicated it to the 'It Gets Better' campaign. On Thursday (October 28), the newly married singer debuted the inspiring clip.

The video, posted on KatyPerry.com, opens with the camera panning a European city before Perry emerges in a lavender gown, standing on a balcony singing. But this isn't just some glamorous music video. Perry is sending a message: empower yourself and embrace your inner firework.

Soon, the video is intercut with stories of people who need to find their inner firework. One story is about a boy who is upset to see his parents fighting. Another follows a young woman at a party where everyone is in their underwear, and she doesn't feel comfortable. The third story follows a cancer-stricken youth who dreamily watches television.

By the time the chorus comes in, Perry's own inner firework is erupting from her chest, and with that, everyone else begins to also find theirs. The video's first protagonist pushes his father away from his mother to protect her. We are also introduced to another set of
characters: two gay youths.

Perry then walks through the city, as the girl at the party decides to join in on the fun, and another guy is bullied in an alleyway for being a magician. The two gay youths embrace their feelings for one another and kiss, the magician dazzles the bullies with his skills, and the sick kid finds solace in the night.

Soon, a party erupts, with Perry in the center of the action, belting out the song's inspiring message as fireworks explode around them all.

Kim Kardashian Says NYC Guys Have A 'Different Vibe'

Newly relocated reality vixen tells 'The Seven' she 'loves' New York.

Reality siren and California girl Kim Kardashian has ditched the West Coast to romp through the streets of New York, big sis in tow, for her upcoming TV show "Kourtney and Kim Take Manhattan." The starlet recently said she's feeling her new digs — despite not finding a lot success on the dating scene.

'I haven't really met a lot of East Coast guys, but the energy here is such a different vibe,' Kardashian said during a sit-down with MTV's 'The Seven,' which aired Thursday (October 28). 'I really love it here on the East Coast.'

The bicoastal socialite, who chatted with reporters at New York City's Macy's store for an event promoting her fragrance, did admit that she's run into some trouble since she took up residence in the Big Apple. Kardashian recalled her encounter with a fan — and his unhinged lady friend — at one of the city's hot spots that left her doused with a cocktail and sparked the ire of her protective friends and family.

'A fan came up and wanted a picture with me, and he was a little drunk, but I took the picture. [Then] his drunk, crazy girlfriend walked up and went crazy and totally thought that he was flirting with me, and it just wasn't the case,' she said.

The drink-flinging girlfriend's antics caught the attention of some key members of Kardashian's entourage.

"She threw a drink on me, and [sister] Khloé saw, like, from a distance, and went crazy. Then Scott, my sister [Kourtney]'s boyfriend, got involved," she said. "We just all left, it was so crazy."

Kardashian pegged the incident as a uniquely NYC experience.

'As crazy as it is at home in L.A., that's never happened,' she said.

What do you think of Kim Kardashian moving to New York? Let us know in the comments!

Rihanna Says Now-Iconic Haircut Was 'Really Liberating'

Loud singer tells MTV News she wanted to do 'something daring with my hair, something fun, something unexpected.'
By Rebecca Thomas

Rihanna

The word "icon" gets tossed around a lot in pop music. So if multiplatinum pop&B star Rihanna is not yet an icon, then she's arguably exhibiting the DNA of an icon-in-the-making, including a trend-shifting haircut that has become one of the most requested styles in salons from Brooklyn to Baltimore. And everyone knows that a look worthy of pop royalty begins with the crown — just ask Madonna.

On Wednesday, MTV News caught up with Rihanna at a New York book signing for her self-titled photography collection, and the 'Only Girl (In the World)' singer said it was 'exciting' that she'd inspired so many girls to chop their tresses.

'For me, when I cut my hair, it was really, really liberating,' Rihanna told us, just weeks before her hotly anticipated LP Loud is due. 'And I always like to do something daring with my hair, something fun, something unexpected and something not typical.'

At her book event, the 22-year-old was sporting the long, layered, fiery-red locks she's been rocking in recent months. But the 'do that most have come to call "the Rihanna" is a Mohawk-inspired look that gets its flirtiness from the long strands that sweep the eyes. The singer first took shears to her Beyoncé-esque mane with the 2008 release of her Good Girl Gone Bad album, drawing "oohs" for a jet-black bob that broke with R&B tradition.

Since then, she's subjected her version of 'the Rihanna' to colors and textures of every variation, from the severe bangs of 'Hard' to the Barbados-approved barrel curls of 'Rude Boy.' And in turn, girls around the country paid homage with cuts of their own. But Rih admitted that convenience also factored into her decision to go short.

'[I wanted] something that, when I wake up in the morning, it kind of leads the day, you know? Kind of tells you what to wear,' she said. 'When you've got too much options with your hair, it's stressful; it could take two hours to get ready,' she laughed.

The editor in chief of Hype Hair, Adrienne Moore, weighed in on the appeal of Rihanna's hairdo, particularly for a generation of girls increasingly wed to weaves and extensions. She highlighted the superstar's willingness to a 'take a risk.'

'Rihanna gives us a fascinating style that's unexpected, and that unexpected look sets her apart from the rest,' Moore told MTV News. 'She wasn't afraid to take a risk, from the first project [A Girl Like Me], she released herself from all that long hair.'

Moore added that even in abandoning the short style for now in favor of a 'voluminous' look, Rihanna has managed to keep her admirers on their toes. 'It's almost like she's stepping back with a retro look, a soft look, as opposed to a spiky, edgy look. So she shocked people,' Moore said of the star's latest look, describing it as a Marilyn Monroe throwback.

Young Church Beats/Remixes – Gorgeous (Kanye 2010 Blend) (ft. Kid Cudi & Notorious BIG)

Time to take em to church with an ill new blend

Just like so many others, Young Church watched Kanye’s short film, “Runaway,” so he had to jump on the chance to add his own creativity to the snippit of CuDi’s part on Kanye’s song “Gorgeous,” and mixing it with Biggie’s dope song “Party and Bullshit,” which many of you probably remember from the extremely ill mashup with Miley Cyrus by Hathbanger, which I call “Party & Bullshit in the U.S.A.” Anyway, Young Church’s mashup is very nice with the chill CuDi vocals and takes you back in time with the nice rhymes from B.I.G… You can find more great mashups from Young Church by using the search box, or by clicking here. I told Young Church I would post this song today after he handed it over to me two days ago. Here’s his commentary:

check out this remix i did to the new kanye and kid cudi joint “gorgeous” thats gonna be on ye’s new album. all i could get ahold of for now were some snippets of it so i chopped up BIG’s verse’s to party n bullshit until the album drops nov. 22nd

Sam Adams – Lions Den

More new Sammy as said by twitter.

Sam is back to the dub-pop-hop, as he had on his mixtape Party Records, which is now without annoying DJ tags on that link… I’ll take a guess that this was not recorded before his mixtape was released, since he says that he is the “creator of dubstep rap, you f*cking idiots” at the beginning of the song, which could be a shot at some people that recently called him out, but I could be wrong. Anyway, Sam goes in over Mt. Eden’s “Sierra Leone,” which Chris Webby did a great job rapping over. Sam sounds pretty good over the song, too.

KiD CuDi Sick of Rap & Moving to Rock

I can’t really say I’m surprised based on the stuff I’ve heard from MOTMII. I will say, if KiD CuDi takes this seriously he can kiss his career goodbye. I’m going to go listen to A Kid Named CuDi.

“I already have three songs done,” the wordsmith revealed during a listening for Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager last night in New York City. He has formed a band and is working with Dot da Genius, the producer behind his 2009 hit ‘Day ‘N’ Nite.’

“Our band is called Wizards!” Cudder shared. “We’re starting to record on the tour bus. We’ll be doing college runs.” The rapper is learning the guitar for the occasion, something he wanted to do for the past decade. “I never thought I could play an instrument. I always downplayed that shit.” (RU)

T.I. – Ya Heard Me [Official Video]

Easily one of my favorite T.I. songs in a while. So let’s play catch-up on T.I. news… His new album will no be called No Mercy, not King Uncaged. He somehow got the charged dropped from his little run-in with the police last month, however it was still a violation of his probation and he will be going to spend 11 months in jail starting Monday.

Thirsty Thursday Tracks

Start the Night Right!

There’s not much explaining to do with this one. Here’s ten dance-ish tracks that are perfect to start of the Halloween weekend. Rage.

Aer – Water On The Moon (Free Mixtape)

What can be more refreshing than Aer? Maybe a mixtape by them…?

We had the exclusive single and title track “Water On The Moon” of this duo out of Wayland, MA (yes, that is the same city where “Boston’s Boy,” Sam Adams is from) a couple days ago and now we share with you their mixtape. On every song, there is an instrumental that is amazing, like something you would expect from Slightly Stoopid, who happens to be their best comparison, since Aer adds doses of reggae, alternative, hip-hop, electronic, and even a bit of pop. Aer, pronounced “Air” combines a lot of soothing sounds and vocals to make some easy listening songs that are so fresh. This is their second tape, and it shows that they have been improving and are set to explode soon enough. Aer’s instrumentals are so sweet, but if their vocals continue to get better, watch out for them to make some major moves. I think it’s safe to say that we need more Aer. Sam Adams – Lolita (Prod. by Red Spyda)

New Sammy Adams!

Sam raps over The Beach Boys’ “Vibrations,” and it sounds pretty good. The song is sort of short and it is tagged by a couple DJs like the annoying DJ Whoo Kid. It’s still pretty nice to hear “Vibrations” sampled in it, and new Sam Adams is nice, too. Expect a tagless to emerge, eventually. Hopefully, when the Djs jump off the song, we’ll get a longer version, as well.

Drake Hopes To Make A 'More Musical' Song With Jay-Z

Drake Hopes To Make A 'More Musical' Song With Jay-Z: "

'I would love to do a song with Jay that hits radio,' he tells MTV News of future 'Light Up' follow-up.
By Jayson Rodriguez

Drake And MTV News' Jayson Rodriguez

When Drake and Jay-Z collaborated on 'Light Up,' the two traded matching rhymes about brushing off haters — Drizzy from the vantage point of an upstart MC and Hov as the veteran with a list of accomplishments longer than Lil Wayne's hair.

Now that Drake has scored a #1 album and loads of endorsement deals, would he consider a sequel? Well, he told MTV News he would record another song with Jay-Z, but not that song in particular.

'I probably wouldn't title it 'Light Up 2,' but there could definitely be potential for a record where me and Jay just spit about life,' Drake told MTV News. 'I look forward to making that. I don't think I'm ready to do it yet, though. If me and Jay do another record ... I just want it to be a song. I don't necessarily want it to be a life/time marker. I would love to do a song with Jay that hits radio. I'd love to do something that's more musical, as opposed to all that rapping. And plus, I don't feel like I'm in that veteran category. Like, now that I'm here six months later, after we did that song. Things happen pretty quick over here on this side, but I don't necessarily want to reflect that in song.'

Maybe Drake can take Hov up on his offer soon for a verse. The Brooklyn icon told fans at Yankee Stadium last month that he owed Drake one after the Toronto star experienced a few technical snafus during the NYC Home and Home stop.

In the meantime, Drake is moving forward with his sophomore set. He recently recorded the second song for the collection, which again will feature production from Noah '40' Shebib.

'I did this song the other night; I've now completed the second song for my album,' he said. 'So I only had one song before for the new album. Two nights ago, I did the second song. I'm loving it. I'm loving the sound. I'm excited again.'

Would you like to see another Drake/Jay-Z collaboration? Let us know in the comments!

Michael Jackson 'Thriller' Movie In The Works

Michael Jackson 'Thriller' Movie In The Works: "

MJ choreographer and 'This Is It' director Kenny Ortega rumored to be helming the big-screen adaptation.
By Gil Kaufman

Michael Jackson in 'Thriller'

Photo: Epic Records

Just in time for Halloween comes a report that former Michael Jackson choreographer Kenny Ortega is in talks to direct a big-screen version of 'Thriller,' the late pop star's groundbreaking music video.

According to a report on Deadline Hollywood, GK Films, the production company from Academy Award-winning producer Graham King ('The Tourist,' 'The Rum Diary'), is in 'active' negotiations to put together a deal to bring the landmark 1983 mini-movie to the big screen. 'This Is It' and 'High School Musical' director Ortega is attached to direct the $50 million project with a script from 'The Hangover' screenwriter Jeremy Garelick.

The project hinges on an OK from the Jackson estate, and a spokesperson for the estate said no confirmation was currently available on the project; representatives for Garelick, Ortega and GK had not returned requests for comment at press time.

The original 14-minute clip was directed by veteran filmmaker John Landis ('Trading Places,' 'The Blues Brothers'), who is currently involved in a royalties dispute with the Jackson estate over proceeds from the best-selling video of all time. 'Thriller' set a new high-water mark for the art of video-making at the time and is still widely considered to be among the greatest efforts ever in the medium, one that continues to influence generations of artists.

The latest to take a swing at 'Thriller' is Kanye West, who has said his 35-minute art film 'Runaway' drew inspiration from the video, including a nod to MJ in a scene featuring a giant papier-mâché likeness of the King of Pop.

No details were available about the plot, but Deadline reported that it might follow the ghouly song's 'folklore' and possibly include a story line involving the late narrator of the song, film actor Vincent Price, and the town in which he grew up.

As noted on MTV's Movies Blog, a 'Thriller' movie helmed by Ortega wouldn't be entirely surprising. Though Ortega has roots in music-based projects and is best known as a choreographer ('Dirty Dancing,' 'Newsies'), his directing credits include the Halloween-themed 1993 witch tale 'Hocus Pocus,' starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and a young Thora Birch.

What do you think of plans to make the 'Thriller' video into a movie? Tell us in the comments!

2010 World Series Rock-And-Roll Guide To The Giants And Rangers

If you don't follow the two Series teams, check out our handy comparisons to your favorite musicians, in Bigger Than the Sound.
By James Montgomery

You might not be aware of it — especially if you live on the East Coast — but on Wednesday night (October 27), the 2010 World Series officially gets under way in San Francisco. It's a particularly intriguing matchup, pitting the pitching-heavy San Francisco Giants against the slugging Texas Rangers, and if you're a baseball purist (and who isn't?), well, then you're definitely in for a treat.

Still, it occurs to me that most of you couldn't care less about this year's Series, mostly because it does not involve either the New York Yankees and/or Philadelphia Phillies. Call me a traditionalist — or an embittered Red Sox/ Mets fan — but I think things are better off without either the Yanks or the Phils involved (since I hate both of them), and I can't wait for the Game One duel between Tim Lincecum and Cliff Lee. (There will be plenty of strikeouts! And the final score will probably be 2-1!)

And, yes, I realize that is probably not enough to get you to actually watch (or even care), which is why I decided to combine my vast knowledge of rock music with my irrational hatred for the Yankees and Phillies and create this handy, rock-centric guide to the World Series. I've analyzed nine key players for both the Giants and the Rangers — broken down their attributes, strengths and weaknesses — and then assigned an appropriate rock band to each of them. Sort of like their spirit animal, only, you know, not. What can I say? I have a lot of time on my hands.

My hope is that you'll read it, find a player (or band) you like, and perhaps tune in for a game or two. Or, if you're a fan of the Yankees or Phillies, just have someone read it for you. The end result will (hopefully) be the same. Here's my rock-and-roll guide to the 2010 World Series:

San Francisco Giants

Aubrey Huff: Aging bomber looking for one last shot at glory. Best days are behind him, yet he presses on nonetheless. Frequently goateed. Career is not nearly as long as you would have imagined. He is Limp Bizkit.

Brian Wilson: Good-natured, mentally unstable closer with an epic beard. Which makes him late-'60s/ early '70s-era Brian Wilson, minus the weight gain.

Buster Posey: Toothsome, backwoods catcher with a tremendous work ethic and a penchant for big hits. Obviously, he's the Kings of Leon.

Cody Ross: Scrappy castoff who silenced his doubters by catching fire in the postseason and propelling his team to the pennant. Underrated. Eternally smiling, probably because he just did something awesome. He is Kid Rock.

Freddy Sanchez: Former batting champ who has lost a step or two since moving to a big-market team. Contact hitter. Tiny. He is Death Cab for Cutie.

Jonathan Sanchez: Slightly wild starter who occasionally harnesses his vast potential (see his no-hitter last season) yet remains frustratingly inconsistent. Oftentimes you have no idea what the f--- is going on with him. He is Sum 41.

Matt Cain: Bulldog-esque pitcher who doesn't get a ton of run support, yet usually delivers. Is much better than his record indicates. He is the All-American Rejects.

Pablo Sandoval: Portly slugger who didn't slug quite so hard in his second season, yet remained a fan favorite nonetheless. Nicknamed 'The Panda.' He is basically a chunky MGMT, and his 2010 season (.268 avg, 13 HRs, 63 RBIs) was most definitely his Congratulations.

Tim Lincecum: Long-haired, willowy ace who bizarrely resembles Wiley Wiggins in 'Dazed and Confused.' Once popped for possession of marijuana. Retro looks + slight build + cannibus fascination = the Dandy Warhols.

Texas Rangers

C.J. Wilson: Floppy-haired former bullpen hand-turned-lights-out starter. Has excellent sideburns. Kind of looks like Brandon Boyd ... so, Incubus?

Cliff Lee: Unhittable, straitlaced ace who keeps coming up big in the clutch. Has bounced around from team to team, yet remains unerringly consistent. Not afraid to mix up his pitch selection, yet rarely — if ever — makes a mistake. Probably reads books like "No Logo" for fun. Just call him Radiohead.

Elvis Andrus: Speedy, soft-hitting shortstop. Prone to errors, to the point where you often wonder if he is playing stoned. Goofy hair. Bizarre name. He is Coheed and Cambria.

Ian Kinsler: Slugging, somewhat-handsome second baseman. Made the successful transition from one position to another while still in the minors. Capable of huge displays of power. In other words, he is 30 Seconds to Mars, his stint at shortstop was Jared Leto's time on 'My So-Called Life,' and his breakthrough 30-30 season was This Is War.

Josh Hamilton: Feared hitting machine who waged a well-publicized war against his personal demons. Has lots of tattoos, some of which are regrettable. Overcame addiction. Hits for both power and average. Likely MVP. In other words, he is Metallica.

Michael Young: Rock-solid face of the franchise. Despite being consistently good, has toiled away in relative obscurity for the majority of the decade. Found success thanks in no small part to the efforts of others. He is Muse. Josh Hamilton is his Stephenie Meyer.

Neftali Feliz: Enigmatic closer with excellent hair. Despite being very young, has excelled in a myriad of roles. Frequently unhittable, generally unflappable. Likes bright colors (as evidenced by his red glove). He is My Chemical Romance.

Nelson Cruz: Smooth-swinging outfielder with bad hamstrings. Steady, rather boring, yet still beloved, mostly because of his occasional flashes of brilliance. Probably owns something with epaulets on it. He is Coldplay.

Vladimir Guerrero: Free-swinging, decidedly old-school slugger who is frequently covered in pine tar. Swings hard, hits even harder, and is capable of driving nearly any pitch over the wall. Steadfastly refuses to wear batting gloves. Is proletarian. Just like The White Stripes. Or The Black Keys.

Nicki Minaj's 'Right Thru Me' Video Premieres

In new clip, MC sports stripped-down, casual attire.
By Hillary Crosley

You can take the girl out of Queens, but you can't take the Queens out of the girl. Nicki Minaj premiered her stripped-down video for 'Right Thru Me' on MTV Wednesday (October 27), and it is quite a departure from her boisterous 'Check It Out' video that debuted Tuesday. Instead of blond hair and futuristic outfits, Nicki looks like she's about to walk down Jamaica Avenue in 50 Cent's hometown.

The opening frame of 'Right Thru Me' shows Nicki arguing in a kitchen with a man that seems to be her boyfriend. The two argue about whether he's 'disrespecting her' by talking behind her back, and he threatens to leave after the MC breaks a glass in frustration. Then Nicki, sporting black wavy hair and pink fingernails, cuddles her gent, apologizes for overreacting and asks him to stay. 'You have to trust me,' he whispers to her.

The clip then bounces between shots of the couple talking tenderly and Nicki preventing the gentlemen from driving away by refusing to leave the driver's seat of his car.

'You make me laugh/ You make me hoarse from yelling at you and getting at you,' she rhymes. 'Why are you speaking when no one asked you?'

In between the scenes, video director Diane Martel inserted frames of Nicki behind a full-length window covered with steam as she sings the chorus. Ultimately, the clip is one of the first opportunities for the femcee's fans to get a glimpse of what she looks like in casual attire, which matches the aesthetic of the song.

Like the steam-covered door after she wipes away the condensation, Nicki's 'Right Thru Me' allows fans to see her clearly and without any pretense.

What do you think of the 'Right Thru Me' video? Tell us in the comments below!

Kid Cudi Reveals How He Ended Up On Kanye West's 'Gorgeous'

'As soon as I heard the beat, I was like, 'Man, this is the one,' ' Cudi recalls of the track, which was featured in 'Runaway.'
By Steven Roberts

Along with the striking imagery in Kanye West's 'Runaway,' people are still talking about the short film's soundtrack. The visual's vibrant colors are paralleled by some of West's best production work. Just ask Kid Cudi.

Cudder was hanging out in the studio one day when he overheard the beat for what would eventually become West's 'Gorgeous.'

' 'Gorgeous' was one of those records that, as soon as I heard the beat, I was like, 'Man, this is the one. This is that 'This Can't Be Life' Kanye beat,' ' Cudi recalled, referencing the 'Ye-produced Jay-Z track. ' 'This is that classic 'Ye beat. I want to be on this.' I came up to him, and I was like, 'Man, are you working on this record? Are you working on this beat?' He goes, 'Yeah ... do you got an idea for it?' I was like, 'Yeah, I might.' I didn't. I was lying like a mother----er. I was like, 'Yeah, man, I want to get on this joint.' '

The song is featured in the third scene of 'Runaway,' as Selita Ebanks' phoenix walks around the garden, interacting with the animals and plants, while Kanye watches her from inside. It will be on West's highly anticipated My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album and also features Raekwon.

Cudi said they put the track together the same way they've put together their previous collaborations: Kanye throws out an idea, and he tries his best to make his part fit.

'That's my goal. Whatever Kanye tells me, I just try to put it in my little machine and make the perfect solution for it,' Cudi said. 'That's always our collab formula, and that's just how 'Gorgeous' came about. He just kind of told me what he was trying to say, I threw out some words, we rearranged words, and we came out with a bunch of different options before we come up with the hook.'

From what you've heard so far, what do you think of 'Gorgeous'? Are you excited to hear the full song? Let us know in the comments!

Taylor Swift Turned To Songwriting Out Of Loneliness

Taylor Swift Turned To Songwriting Out Of Loneliness: "

'I was going through a very lonely phase at school,' Speak Now singer tells MTV's 'The Seven.'
By Mawuse Ziegbe

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift became a chart-topping singer and songwriter as a teen, and while her drive and focus likely pushed her megastardom, she said she originally began penning lyrics because she was lonely.

'I turned to songwriting because I didn't really have anybody else to talk to,' Swift said during an interview on MTV's 'The Seven' Wednesday (October 27). 'I was going through a very lonely phase at school, which a lot of kids do. It's just when you're going through it you feel like you're the only one going through it.'

Channeling the pain through the pen, Swift used her loner status to launch her into superstar territory. Along the way, she's learned that while her lyrics may be informed by new experiences, she plans to remain true to herself.

'I changed a lot over the course of my life, and having written songs since I was 12, your perspective changes,' she said. 'But I think part of growing up is realizing that you'll never change, but you'll never stay the same either.'

One thing that doesn't stay the same is her schedule, which picked up the pace as the starlet dropped her latest album, Speak Now.

'A typical day for me, it's fun, because, lately, there really is no typical day. There are some things that are always gonna be the same, like my priority on family and making sure that I always remember to love this,' she explained.

Although she has to maintain the packed and sometimes punishing schedule of a global pop star, Swift says she doesn't regret trading in dorm life for the limelight.

'I'm very conscious of the path that I chose in life and that it is a different path than what my friends chose. College and living in a dorm, that would have been my life if music hadn't been my life,' she said, adding that she gets a taste of the campus experience through her close friends and family. 'I always keep one eye on that path. I go and I visit my brother at college and I visit my best friend Abigail at college and go and I attend her journalism class. I have no regrets about the path that I took, but I still try to experience as much as I possibly can in life.'

Swift maintained that her 'biggest challenge is staying closer to hope rather than being closer to fear,' but added that doing what she loves keeps her grounded.

'Loving this is a big part of my life and sometimes, if you get too tired or you're jetlagged, you might forget,' she said. 'But I always remind myself that I love this.'

Don't miss 'The Seven' every weekday at 5 p.m. ET on MTV.

Rihanna Says Photos In Her New Book 'Say So Much'

Fans get to see 'all the things that they hadn't seen that were going on behind the scenes,' she tells MTV News of self-titled tome.
By Rebecca Thomas

Rihanna signs copies of her book in New York City Wednesday

NEW YORK — Her fervently tracked fifth album, Loud, is just weeks from its November 16 due date, but on Wednesday (October 27), Rihanna was reflecting on her last LP, the moody Rated R. The Bajan singer turned up at a Fifth Avenue Barnes & Noble bookstore to sign copies of her new book.

Her self-titled tome is a photographic document of the year that followed the release of that dark disc and her triumphant Last Girl on Earth Tour. The widely photographed star told MTV News that her Rihanna Navy will get an intimate peek — unlike the relentless paparazzi pics that paper the blogs — at her life with this book, shot by creative director Simon Henwood.

'I think it was really special to have behind-the-scenes photos, you know, pictures that the fans haven't seen before, all together of a very specific moment of my life, an album of my life,' Rihanna told us.

From stage lights to street lights, the 22-year-old stunner shines in front of the camera and perhaps never more so than in the images that capture Rihanna in the moments between show times: Admirers will swoon over a picture of the singer clutching her hoodie on a Paris rooftop with the Eiffel Tower visible in the distance or another rather decadent snap that shows her feasting on room service with just a table napkin and black suspenders doubling as a shirt.

'They just get to see all the things that they hadn't seen that were going on behind the scenes; really cool stuff, not typical,' Rihanna, draped in a calf-length floral frock, explained. 'They're really fun photos. And even for me, when I look at them, they say so much. Photos really tell a thousand words.'

The 'Only Girl (In the World)' singer had her own favorite, though, and she thumbed through the oversize collection to show us a green-tinged photo of her onstage in an elaborate headdress that calls to mind Venetian blinds. ('I call it the 'Disturbia' one ... I love that one.')

So what essential items does a globe-trotting songstress making her debut headlining tour pack when your concert schedule takes you as far as the Belgian city of Antwerp?

"Essential?" she thought for a moment. "Comfortable, warm clothes for the bus — the bus is always freezing! And you always want to be comfortable on the bus. Not much heels. You're pretty much going from the bus to the stage, back to the studio ... back to the stage. So it's not a lot of clothes to pack: sneakers, sweats, pajamas, stuff like that," she smiled.

Julius Myth – Faded

Dope beat + great flow

I think we can safely say that this week, we’ve been bringing you a good number of songs with really ill beats. This song can be filed under the same category. The beat is really chill, and Julius Myth seems to add a nice flow and catchy lyrics to make this track very good. i received this in an email from Julius Myth’s official representative, Keyan Sanai, so here’s his info on the artist with the great track:

21 year old Julius is the one of the hottest rappers out of the 914 right now. Over the summer he was in Webby’s studio in long island, J kill put on the beat and Julius ripped it. This will be one of the songs off of his Haze and Apple Juice mixtape dropping.

Timeflies (Cal + Rob Resnick) – All Night

Cal and Rob Resnick meet up for another nice track

Just like the last track they teamed up for, Timeflies (Cal and Rob Resnick) makes an ill duo, combining a really chill, dope beat with good vocals. It is a catchy track that is perfect for zoning out to and getting lost in the sweet sounds of the song. If you are like me, I’d love for this duo to collab together more often. Sound off on your thoughts in the comments and become a fan of them on facebook.

I wanted to say thanks for the nice post about Rob and Cal. Fade is an older track that we decided to release for fun, but the newer stuff is a fresh sound that I definitely think you will like. Also, Cal and Rob are going to go by the name TimeFlies with Rob doing all the production and Cal on the vocals.

P.SO the Earth Tone King – Some Fun (Redux) (prod. The Doppelgangaz)

Old School Banger Beat

Wow. That’s all I have to say about this track. I’ve never really been a fan of P.SO as he continues the whole old school beat trend. This time though, he adds a solid sampling along with his unforgettable rhymes to produce a masterpiece. I’m almost positive you guys will enjoy this track, so be sure to check it out. Not really sure what the sampling is but it definitely fits into the beat perfectly. Check it out!

Common, Lupe Fiasco and Jennifer Hudson – We Can Do It Now

Soulful collab

Common, Lupe Fiasco, No I.D., and Jennifer Hudson (she was in the movie “Dream Girls” and a contestant on American Idol) come together to represent Chicago on Season 3 of Gatorade Replay to make this sweet song called “We Can Do It Now.” Jennifer Hudson comes through with some soulful vocals, while No I.D. produced the dope beat. Lupe and Common join in with some dope verses.

Niiice Instrumentals

Hopefully you guys are no stranger to Pretty Lights, because he is one of my top three solely instrumental producers. Always incorporating great electro riffs, unique horns, and random samples he produces some beats that are different than any out there. Like I said, this is one of three artists where i will listen to a full album with no words, and this album is no different. Releasing his last free EP of the year with Glowing In The Darkest Night i really hope he keeps the great music coming next year. Enjoy!

Sorry For Partying – Shine Wit It (Dem Franchize Boyz vs. Sunloverz)

The GoodMusicAllDay.com team would like to congratulate Becky Bolton as the newest member of the GMAD team. Please welcome her as she knows some ill music, too!

Why are you sorry? Shouldn’t we party all day, everyday?

This is Sorry For Partying’s third attempt at trying to get one of their songs on GMAD, and here is their best song yet. I’m more sold on the beat that they applied in the mashup than the acapella they chose. Obviously, I think they have shown some improvement to mix their song a bit better. I think Sorry For Partying could rise in popularity if they mix their songs like this, but my challenge for every mashup artist/group is to combine a more unknown acapella with a really good beat that is not necessarily applied in a good song, but any beat that is very good. The 1v1 mashups are more to my liking, but there can be some continuous mashups that I am able to enjoy a lot, too.

We spent well over 5 times the amount of effort and time on this latest mashup, and we think we’ve picked the perfect mix of songs as well as mixed and warped them perfectly. This song is called ‘Shine Wit It’ combining Dem Franchize Boyz and Sunloverz for a fun rap filled song you can sing along to, but with a fun electronic beat with some bass that you makes you wanna party and dance.

Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway Talk 'Love & Other Drugs' Nudity

'There's a big difference between nudity and two characters living their lives without their clothes on,' Anne Hathaway tells MTV News.
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway

Photo: MTV News

From the very first time Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway meet onscreen in "Love & Other Drugs," clothes come off and a whole lot of skin is exposed. That nude scene sets the tone for the rest of the film, surprising in that these two A-listers seem to bare it all at nearly every turn.

'I don't think there's anything wrong with nudity in film, and I would hope that any actor that is asked to reveal that part of themselves has as loving and open an experience as we had,' Hathaway recently told MTV News.

Gyllenhaal clearly agreed and he was more than happy to let Hathaway explain the rather unique experience they had with their nude scenes in the movie opening November 24. 'You're good at this one!' he said.

The usual protocol for nude scenes in Hollywood is for filmmakers to prepare a comprehensive outline of exactly what body parts will be exposed onscreen. Then the negotiations begin. That's not what happened between Gyllenhaal, Hathaway and director Edward Zwick on 'Other Drugs,' a film about a charismatic Viagra salesman (Gyllenhaal) who falls for a free-spirited beauty with one dark secret (Hathaway).

'We just kind of all decided to go a different way this time,' Hathaway explained. '[Jake and I] talked about it and we talked with Ed about it and we said, 'You know, we're gonna do what we feel comfortable. Let's talk about why we feel this is important. Let's talk about the story we hope to tell through these scenes.' I think there's a big difference between having nudity and having two characters living their lives without their clothes on.

'Then once we kind of decided how we feel about it, we said, 'Ed, please shoot it as you see fit,' knowing that Ed is not an exploitative person,' she continued. 'And at the end, we were shown the scenes that Ed had cut and we were given full license to say, 'I don't like this, I do like this, I think this shot feels a little linger-y to me.' As a result, it became this organic process.'

Young Church Beats/Remixes – Party Life On Dancefloors (ft. Jay-Z, Wiz Khalifa, Metronomy & 8Ball)

Here’s another fresh mashup that combines a dope beat with some dope a capellas of artists.

This mashup made by Young Church Beats/Remixes combines On Dancefloors by Metronomy’s “On Dancefloors” with Jay-Z’s “Party Life,” Wiz Khalifa’s “Make It Hott,” and 8Ball’s verse from “I Gotta Stay Fly.” I was unaware, but this has been out for several months and it has also been in my iTunes for a long time. This is actually a throwback from Tim’s post on February 5th, but many of you did not follow GMAD back then, so I will take a guess that many of you have not heard this mashup. Check out more from Young Church here. I saw this on Mother earth Remixes’ website, so here’s his commentary:

Here’s a track by my boy Young Church. Some of you that are fans of his may have heard this before but i’m guessing most of you haven’t. Young Church is the one who got me into mashups and is honestly more talented than I am. Enjoy!!!

Aer – Water On The Moon [GoodMusicAllDay.com Exclusive]

Some refreshing instrumentals and vocals

This song is called “Water On The moon,” which is also the title of Aer’s new mixtape as well. Their instrumentals, to me, compare to those of Jack Johnson in his song “Flake” and Slightly Stoopid in “Collie Man,” “Officer,” and many other songs. This is a perfect song for studying, relaxing, sitting near a campfire. They instrumentals would be enough to add to make a good mashup, but this song is perfectly fine with the chilling vocals that allow you to feel the song. Aer seems to have a lot of uniqueness in their approach to a song. I hope to hear more from them very soon.

Hailing from Wayland, MA, Aer is made up of Carter Schultz and David Von Mering. Aer is a compilation of trippy loops, Slightly Stoopid like guitar, hip-hop and reggae influenced verses and catchy choruses. The uniqueness and originality of the music makes it hard to put down. Their debut mixtape “Water On The Moon” is to come soon from the duo in a few short days.

New Lupe

Here is Lupe’s first official single off of Lasers. As you may remember, Lupe finally got Atlantic to agree to put the album out next year…. As if that will actually happen who knows… *fingers crossed* Good stuff from Lupe here, did you expect something else? Enjoy..

Chris Webby – Stranger (Music Video)

Perfect song for this time of the year

Halloween is Sunday, so it is fitting that Chris Webby decided to release this video. “Stranger” samples a song called “People Are Strange” by The Doors. It is a song from Webby’s last mixtape The Underclassmen, which was a really good tape with a lot of good verses and lyrical content from Chris Webby. As a sidenote, I’ve been hearing that Webby has been in the studios getting on some dope beats, so expect some ill songs from him soon enough.

Kanye West's 'Runaway' Film: A Pop-Culture Cheat Sheet

From 'Armageddon' to 'Under the Cherry Moon,' 'Ye took cues from all over.
By James Montgomery

Kanye West and Selita Ebanks in 'Runaway'

Photo: Def Jam

Here at MTV News, we like to cover the story from all angles, which is why, one day after publishing our high-culture cheat sheet for Kanye West's 'Runaway' film, we're back with the lowbrow accompaniment. It's somewhat fitting, because while West's film is no doubt arty and abstract, it's also a big-budget, popcorn event too, the kind of thing that's littered with fast cars and explosions and lyrical nods to the Kings of Leon and Alec Baldwin.

So, really, we'd be doing a disservice — to West, his fans and Alec Baldwin — if we didn't do a pop-culture cheat sheet for the film. So here, alphabetized for your perusing pleasure, is our list of the films, fruits and, uh, fleshy abdominals that are referenced in "Runaway." And though our list is extensive, it's probably not perfect, so if there's something we missed, let us know in the comments below!

'Armageddon': The 1998 Michael Bay blockbuster about a team of deep-core drillers hired by NASA to save the earth from a rapidly advancing asteroid. Shockingly not based on actual events. The film is loaded with special-effects shots of fiery bits of space ephemera rocketing through the atmosphere, just like the opening scene of 'Runaway.' You could just as easily put 'Deep Impact' in here too, since they're basically the same film.

'Bambi': Classic Disney film from 1948 about an orphaned deer and his adorable pals Thumper and Flower. The scene in which Bambi's mother is shot by a hunter is credited by some for helping the animal-rights movement gain traction around the world. None of that really applies to 'Runaway,' but there are plenty of cute little deer in it.

Blueberries: Antioxidant-rich flowering plants of the genus vaccinium. For reasons clear only to West, the table in the 'Runaway' dinner sequence is covered in blueberries, though, according to some, they symbolize eternity and optimism of the future. Also, they are delicious.

'The Brother From Another Planet': Odd 1984 film from director John Sayles about a mute alien who crashes in New York City. The fact that 'the Brother' is only distinguishable from other men by the three large toes he has on each foot seems to have been echoed in the phoenix's large golden claws.

Every single action movie ever: Over the past two decades, nearly every action movie made has featured a scene in which the hero turns his or her back and strides confidently away from a gigantic explosion (usually, this scene is shot in slow-motion). It's gotten so bad that the Lonely Island comedy troupe even released a song called 'Cool Guys Don't Look at Explosions.' And, well, in "Runaway," Kanye is guilty of the same thing, scooping up Selita Ebanks and walking away from a massive fireball — in slow-motion, of course.

'The Fifth Element': Tongue-in-cheek 1997 Luc Besson sci-fi film about a cab driver (and ex-special forces soldier) who rescues a mysterious, childlike alien/ 'supreme being' with bright orange hair. Turns out, she's the key to saving the entire universe from destruction. Also turns out that like the phoenix in 'Runaway,' she spends a whole lot of time sniffing stuff and pawing at inanimate objects.

'Marie Antoinette': Eye-catching, vaguely anachronistic 2006 Sofia Coppola film about the teenage bride of Louis XVI, who eventually becomes the very frivolous queen of France. The elaborate dinner scene in "Runaway" — and, in particular, West and Ebanks' stilted interactions at it — remind us of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI's initial meeting at an equally lavish dinner party.

Rose, Amber: Bodacious model and socialite/ former paramour of West. Their relationship made headlines, and West makes a joking reference to the tabloid coverage of Rose's sexual preferences in 'Runaway,' when, during the dinner scene, a guest compliments him on the phoenix's beauty, then rhetorically asks, 'Do you know she's a bird?'

'Splash': The 1984 romantic comedy about a New York City man who falls in love with a mermaid; the parallels between it and "Runaway" should be fairly obvious, though the dinner scene — in which the phoenix sniffs at a terrine, dips her claws in a glass of champagne and fumbles a loaf of bread — instantly made us think of the famous bit in "Splash" where the mermaid is invited to a White House dinner and proceeds to horrify guests by devouring a lobster, shell and all.

Situation, the: Bulgy, egomaniacal star of MTV's 'Jersey Shore' most famous for his rippling abs and for being on 'Dancing With the Stars' for about three minutes. His six-pack makes an appearance in 'Runaway' on the midsection of Selita Ebanks' phoenix, who, moves it, shakes it and just ... wow.

Tarantino, Quentin: Academy Award-winning writer/director who is also an unconscionably bad actor. We're not saying West's directorial chops are quite to Tarantino's level just yet, but acting-wise, well, the two are pretty much on par.

'Under the Cherry Moon': Slightly disastrous 1986 Prince vehicle about a gigolo who scams rich women out of their inheritances. Presented in black-and-white and featuring lavish sets, costumes and musical numbers, it was arty, ambitious and a total flop at the box office. Fans who saw advance screenings of 'Runaway' in New York mentioned 'Cherry Moon' as an obvious reference point for West's film, and we tend to agree. In particular, the dapper tuxedo 'Ye wears during the film's centerpiece musical performance seems to be a loving nod to the Purple One's outfit in 'Moon.'

Despite the severity of his injury, MTV 'Challenge' host TJ Lavin has been making significant improvements on a daily basis. Lavin's close friend and business partner Chas Aday told MTV News that Lavin is conscious, talking and answering questions.

'He was able to walk down the hall with assistance this morning,' Aday revealed. 'He's having surgery on his wrist tomorrow, and he'll be going to a rehab facility after that to get the brain back to normal.

'The doctors have told us he'll make a full recovery,' Aday explained.
'It's a matter of how long that's going to take, we don't know.'

Aday went on to say that Lavin's progress has been encouraging.

'It's been wonderful to see how much better he's doing. From a medically induced coma to being unconscious, to being intubated with a breathing tube, to not responding at all, to seeing him now, it's awesome,' he said. 'You really can't find words to express how relieved you are to see that.'

A pro BMX biker, Lavin sustained a bleeding brain, a broken wrist and an orbital fracture after a stunt went awry during what was supposed to be the athlete's final ride.

After hearing initial reports of the accident, Lavin's fans have expressed words of encouragement and support. His 'Challenge' cast even issued an official shout-out during last week's episode.

'I know he's aware of the support he's had from the people coming to visit him,' Aday said. 'I don't think he's aware of the people following him and what's going on outside the hospital. We've tried to tell him that, but I don't know if he really comprehends that yet.

'I know he knows he's injured,' Aday added. 'I think he understands that he's in the hospital. I don't know if he understands the extent of what is going on. Getting him better, that's our goal.'

Less than a week after T.I. lost his gig as a spokesperson for Axe Body spray, another high-profile endorsement deal has fallen by the wayside for the prison-bound rapper.

According to Rap Radar, Tip (born Clifford Harris) was dropped as a spokesperson for Rémy Martin cognac, just five months after the liquor company signed him up. T.I. scored the deal this summer after completing a seven-month prison sentence stemming from his 2007 arrest for attempted purchase of a firearm by a convicted felon. But on Monday, a spokesperson for Rémy told the site that they were cutting the rapper loose. "Sometimes the 'road to redemption' is a difficult path," read a statement from the high-end cognac-maker. "Regrettably, we will not be able to continue collaborating with T.I. at this time. We wish T.I. well and hope he will devote his time and energy to staying the course."

A spokesperson for Rémy Martin in Paris could not be reached for comment at press time and a spokesperson for T.I. also was unavailable to confirm the split.

The rapper is expected to turn himself in on Monday for an an 11-month prison stint in connection with a recent drug-related probation violation tied to the aforementioned 2007 arrest. In the meantime, though, T.I. has announced a title change for his upcoming album. After recording a slew of songs earlier this year for what was slated to be King Uncaged, Tip revealed on Atlanta's 'Rickey Smiley Morning Show' on Monday that he has switched up the title to No Mercy.

'It ain't King Uncaged no more; we had to change the title,' he chuckled at the top of the interview. 'No Mercy.'

A spokesperson for Atlantic Records confirmed the album title change but said the record does not yet have an official release date. T.I. said he was hoping to drop the disc before he begins his latest prison bid, which stems from an arrest on September 1 in Los Angeles where he was found to be in possession of the drug ecstasy as well as in the presence of a convicted felon, both breaches of his federal probation. Ironically, on Monday, prosecutors in Los Angeles announced that they were not going to charge the rapper on the drug charges because he was already facing a federal prison sentence for the probation violation.

'We just getting some more videos in the can and preparing for this project to be out. Wrapping things up, getting ready to deliver it to the world,' T.I. told Smiley, hinting at a Lil Wayne-style effort to stockpile material that can be eased out while he completes his sentence.

Los Angeles, Minnesota, the United Kingdom — those are just a few of the places that fans were flown in from to spend Monday evening celebrating the release of Taylor Swift's Speak Now with the singer herself. And 'amazing' and 'life changing' are just a couple of the adjectives used to describe the singer's Speak Now live streaming mini-concert and party, held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan.

'Tonight is a dream come true,' one fan from Los Angeles told MTV News at the bash. 'It's like a fantasy that you would read about and you never think would happen.'

'I could not believe my phone rang and [I heard,] 'Congratulations! You're going to New York to meet Taylor Swift,' ' Kate from Texas recalled of the call she received informing her that she'd be attending the event. ' 'Really? Me? Just oh my gosh!' '

Not only did fans get to be in the same room as Swift, they also got the chance to meet her. Added Kate, 'She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Words cannot explain just her personality ... To be so famous yet so humble is just unbelievable. I have always wanted to meet Taylor Swift and never actually believed I ever would.'

The theme of the night for her fans seemed to be Swift's ability to connect with her faithful followers through her music. Fans from all over the globe noted that they love the singer because her music touches on many events and emotions they go through in their own lives. 'Her songs, just everything about them, relate to us,' Jordan said. 'Our everyday lives and it's great that she can make that connection.'

'She inspires us so much,' McKenzie added. 'I just sit in my room and I dance along to her songs. I sing along to her songs.'

Surface to Air Missile – I Gotcha (Lupe Fiasco x Jack Johnson)

Lupe Fiasco’s “I Gotcha” vs. Jack Johnson’s “If I Had Eyes”

The main mission, in my opinion, of a mashup is to make the a capella on a track sound better on a different beat. This mashup definitely accomplishes that task. This track is most dope and flows so well. Lupe’s lyrics and John Mayer’s beats combine to make a n ill mashup. I was told in the email that the mashup artist, known as Surface to Air Missile, has a mashup album, which I haven’t gotten around to listening to, but I’ll let you guys decide whether you wish to see whether there are any other mashups worth downloading.

Been readin and listenin to GMAD for a while now, and know you guys dig mashups. Anyway, just finished up my own mashup album over the summer called ‘Concubines and Chedda’. It goes in a little bit of a different direction than just taking a couple Top 40 songs and beatsyncing them.

Bagginz – Can’t Forget It (Prod. By Joey C)

Nice Sampling, Nice Track

Here’s one from the email submissions. Although the long beginning kind of gets annoying, it eventually kicks in and starts bumping. I’ve never heard of this artist before today, but he definitely knows what he’s doing and how to do it right. I hope you guys like this one, be sure to listen to it all the way through before writing it out.
