Philip Michael – Free To Be (feat. Akon)

Definite Radio Hit

After the first listen, this track has top40 music written all over it. It’s a poppy/rap type song with the feature of Akon. I don’t really have much more to add other then be lookin for this track on the radio sometime soon. Enjoy!

Deadmau5 – Raise Your Weapon

Some New Deadmau5 + Dubstep

For me the song loses some of its appeal when the Dubstep starts up but I know many of you will enjoy that part greatly. Much love to the man himself. Enjoy..

Midway Skies – Time Machine

New Midway Skies

From the group who brought you two GMAD hits “Fresh Champ” and “Feb. 14th” comes a new single. Before you blast it for ‘over-using’ autotune, listen to the whole thing. This group does use voice modifiers, but they do it well. It fits their voices, their beat, their style. I know this one will be a hit or miss up here, and I’m just hopin it’s a hit. Enjoy!

J. Cole – The Plan

Well It’s New J. Cole..

Word on the street is that 9th Wonder was supposed to be on the boards for this song slated to appear on NBA 2K11. Well it’s Jermaine himself. I guess 9th Wonder is busy with David Banner.. Not the best lyricism I’ve heard from him. Where is the album sir? Enjoy..

Bruno Mars – Grenade (CDQ)

Amazing

Yes, Bruno Mars is amazing. A year ago, I knew nothing about him, but now he is everywhere. He writes, sings, and produces. He wrote Cee-Lo Green’s “F**k You” and is an artist that many would love to work with now. Mars’ debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, will be released on October 5, 2010. I believe it will be something special. Enjoy this one. It won’t disappoint.

Hoodie Allen – Tighten Up (Studio Preview)

And he’s incredible in the studios too

Hoodie’s mixtape Pep Rally is dropping tomorrow. He just leaked this video of himself in studio, and he sounds really good. Of course, you will find it here. Every song sounds incredible from Hoodie, so I’m sure his mixtape will be one of the best of the year… I’m thinkin top 10.

Mike Posner – Cooler than Me (Brenton Duvall Remix)

Another unreal remix

Brenton Duvall hits the world with another hot remix. I picked this off his twitter a little bit ago. This time he worked on Mike Posner’s “Cooler Than Me,” which has been remixed a bit, but Brenton does a very good job, and of course, he rocks it. Check out all these unreal remixes Brenton made and tell me he doesn’t have a ton of talent. Become a fan of Brenton Duvall on facebook

Hoodie Allen – Pep Rally (Free Mixtape)

This is a must have mixtape.

This has got to be a top 10 mixtape of the year. From his releases of “Words of Wisdom,” “You are not a Robot,” and “Swimming With Sharks,” this mixtape is already going to be something you will want to hold on to for a very long time. My favorites are streamed below, including two songs he had not leaked before. Hoodie combines nice lyricism, incredible flow, and top notch samples (thanks to RJ Ferguson, his producer). Here’s what Hoodie cared to share in his email to us:

The wait is finally over! I am proud to finally announce the release of my free mixtape Pep Rally which is available for direct download now at http://www.timeforthepeprally.com. Pep Rally, which features 11 original tracks, lives up to it’s name–as a high energy, fun mixtape that cleverly combines indie sampling and hip hop music. Pep Rally is a celebration of growing up, narrated with help from samples by Beach House, Florence + The Machine, The Black Keys and more!

I want to really say how much having your support has meant to me. Everywhere I go people say they saw me featured at GMAD and that’s how they found out about me, so that plus the fact that you’ve supported every track I’ve leaked from this mixtape is really awesome. Pep Rally is the culmination of a lot of hard work this summer.

Thank you so much for everything guys! I hope Pep Rally will be your favorite 30 minutes of music this year.

Lil Wayne feat. Drake – Gonorrhea [Tags]

New Dwayne

Can we all agree he’s back? Have some tags to deal with for the moment, but you will survive. Been waiting a few hours and haven’t gotten the tagless version. I Am Not a Human Being on the way as well as C4 and Dedication 4. No word on I Can’t Feel My Face or the Hot Boys Reunion. ha. ha.

The Cool Kids feat. Travis Barker – Jump Down

Jump Down

Interesting Collaboration

So I can’t lie, I’ve heard better from both of these artists but this does the job. The trunk-rattling duo known as The Cool Kids decided to get some drum work from an expert. iTunes single, go support them. Enjoy..

Bruno Mars – Liquor Store Blues feat. Damian Marley

Another Interesting Collaboration

Much like the Cool Kids and Travis Barker post this is getting some love for the duo. Much better job done here. You can definitely can hear the reggae influence from Bob’s kin. On a serious note, Bruno Mars was arrested for cocaine possession, let’s hope this makes people forget. Debut album drops next month. Enjoy..

G.M.T.A. – Find A Way [Ft. Taylor Urso]

Nice flow and beat

Sounds like G.M.T.A. has come a long way since their last project. They feature a girl on the hook, and she does very well. This song should be on their upcoming mixtape “O’ Music Where Art Tho.” I hope J The Kid and Sayance lead into their next release with more song like this one. I received this in an email from G.M.T.A. just the other day:

We wrote “Find a Way” about us taking advantage of our opportunities and finding a way to accomplish our dream. Joe’s sister does the feature on the chorus and she sounds great. We are working on our second mixtape now, that we believe blows our first one out of the water with better verses and hooks. The only thing we need is our own beats which we are in the process of working on now.

Sam Adams – Bass Head (Prod. Bassnectar)

New Sammy Adams

Two days till the release of Party Records. Am I excited? Is that a question? Sam Adams does a great job on his songs, but yes I like his older material more. I can’t hate on new Sam Adams songs, though. This one is hot and you should definitely download it. Shouts to Matt McMahon for the tip.

Justin Michael & Kemal – Her World Goes On

Nice Electro R&B

It may just be me but I really am a sucker for a nice techno/trance/electro beat with a solid R&B singer over it. It could be Akon, Wynter Gordon, Ne-Yo, or even just a no-name in this case. I had to dig this one up from back in March, but didn’t seen to make it through the main blogs, so figured I would throw it out there. When I first got this it was listed with Bruno Mars on it (and is still listed like that on a lot of blogs) but I really havn’t found a good source saying that it is indeed Bruno, so as of now I am going to jsut say it is only Justin Michael & Kemal. Whoever it is singing has a great voice that blends perfectly with the electro beat to create on damn good song. ENJOY!

Josh Benny – What The Future Holds

Another young talent

Josh Benny has a great flow and appears like he likes to rap over an ill beat. He raps knowing that he’s destined to be signed to a record label, and he some some great talent to get him there. TMG posted this a couple days ago, so here’s Roger’s take on him:

Rapper and high school senior Josh Benny is wondering what the future holds on the latest leak off his upcoming Pre-Game mixtape. At only seventeen years old, the future is looking bright for this young Long Island rapper. Benny’s Pre-Game mixtape drops October 1st.
