Collin McLoughlin – Back To The Wall

Nice Refreshing Sound

Got this one in an email and I’m really liking the feel of this track…

Collin has a refreshing sound that blends electronic, soul and pop rhythms. He has performed with Wale, Fabolous, K’naan, Sam Adams, and Lupe Fiasco. Collin plans to release his solo album in the electro / soul genres in the coming weeks, followed by a solo tour to promote the project all while juggling his role as a graduate student at NYU’s Music Business Program. Needless to say, we think he’s the next big thing.

Wiz Khalifa – This Plane (Hugh Crazy Remix)

Real Dope Remix

Well, I’ve been listening to comments recently on my Wiz tracks that I put up and I’ve been giving him more of a chance each time I listen to him. With that said, I’m enjoying his tracks more and more. I realized with this track that I love his lyrics/flow it’s just I didn’t like the original beat I guess, because I’m loving this track (and not the original). Either way, you guys will love this track, fans of all genres.

Scholarly Pursuits – Sick So Hate (Mixtape)

Pure Upcoming Talent’

When my friend Duncan Wannamaker told me about some “friends” who dropped a mixtape I thought “oh boy here we go again . . .” and boy was I wrong. This rap duo has that old school feel to it (between the beats they use and their flows) which GMAD misses out on a lot of time. They have been hitting up the studio and just doing this stuff because they love it and I think you can tell when people record truly for the love of music and not only because it’s a chance at fame. Well if you like that class hip-hop feel you will enjoy this tape for sure. Enjoy . . .

Tijon – Use Me

Awesome Track

You are gonna wanna download this before you finish reading this review . . . just saying. Part of the advantage of living in NYC is being able to catch onto some new East Coast talent and this guy has been making serious buzz over here and after you listen to this you’ll know why. It’s a real chill rap song. Enjoy . . .

FowL – Black is Beautiful

The Title Says It All

So our sponsored artist Fowl hit me up saying he released this track and was hoping I could take a listen and this song is dope. It’s a true hip-hop song, with good lyrics and a tight flow. Also if you haven’t seen it before hit the jump or click here to see Fowl freestyle out at ND when he opened for Wiz Khalifa and absolutely killed it. At an after party, he freestyled for 20 mins straight on the porch and it was something that woulda riviled Webby’s epic 5 minute freestyle. I’d love to see em together on stage . . .

Tunng – Hustle

Alternative Summer Song

This is not rap so don’t listen if you are just here for that, but I like that we at GMAD are more than that and this is a sweet summer track for you guys. I know it’s not the newest but I spotted it over at PnP and was really feeling it. Enjoy . . .

Wiz Khalifa – Supply ft. Nesby Phips

From Kush & OJ

Yes this song is old (as of this summer when he dropped Kush & OJ) but as jschramm23 said, you guys have started to swing our opinion of Wiz, and I thank you for that. Well on my vacation I had a 23 hour travel day which led me to listen to Jush & OJ all the way thru again and I got stuck on this song on repeat. It’s dope and sorry for you that downloaded Kush & OJ, but maybe this will just make you appreciate this song again. N if you haven’t, obviously download the whole tape right now here . . .

Jay-Z x E.S. Posthumus – Run This Town/Posthumus Zone (Medley)

Super Bowl Remix

If you watched the Super Bowl for even 10 minutes you probably heard a snippet of this remix, and now the .mp3 has been released. It’s an interesting little medley that grows on you in time. E.S. Posthumus advertises their music as electro but it sounds like it’s even got some classical influence to it too. Enjoy . . .

Kid Cudi – VEVO Go Shows: Kid Cudi – REVOFEV

Fun Video

This is why I love music. Watch CuDi perform and tell me that guy isn’t having the time of his life up there and that he doesn’t truly love music . . . i dare you. I know the song isn’t new but I feel like you guys will enjoy watching this. Also, if you missed a fan attacking CuDi while performing and then CuDi running after him through the crowd and trying to show him what’s up hit the jump to watch it, pretty crazy. Enjoy . . .

P.SO & 8thW1 – Vintage Clothes f. Daniel Joseph

Nice Hook and Sample

Okay this artist name is really confusing. I’m scared to think about it. But here is a nice little track. The second fellas verse isn’t as good as the first guy (Don’t know who is who) but you win son you lose some. That’s all I got. Enjoy.. Props 2db

Kid Cudi vs the Postal Service – Man on the Moon Mash-Up

Chill Cudi Mash-Up

The laid-back attitude of the two original tracks combines pretty nicely on this mash-up. Definitely worth a listen if you’re a fan of the moon man.

Snoop Dogg ft. Bruno Mars & B.o.B. – Nothin’ On Snoop (Scarlet Panda Remix)

Dope Mashup

Really sick track here, definitely give it a listen. Scarlet Panda did a really good job mixing Snoop’s verses from “Gangsta Luv” and the instrumental to B.o.B.’s “Nothin’ On You”. If you like both of the artists, one of them, or even neither be sure to check this one out.

Two Door Cinema Club – What You Know (SUbpRIME Remix)

AMAZING Remix

Here’s another track that I’m biased about. I do like TDCC so I like this original song as well as the remix. Since you guys loved that Vampire Weekend Remix of “The Kids Don’t Stand A Chance”, I had to post this one because I thought it had the same feel to it. Hope you guys like this as much as I do, enjoy!

Lil Wayne feat. Birdman – Stuntin’ Like My Daddy (FAMUEL Remix)

New Remix

So I know as soon as you guys read the title you thought “Another Stuntin’ Like My Daddy Remix?!” and sighed. But take that sigh back and listen to this one, it’s a new approach to the song. I’m really liking this remix more then any other one I’ve heard on GMAD. I think it definitely is one of the best out right now. Check it out.

Huey Mack – A Star is Born

Young white talent

If there’s one thing that I’ve noticed over the past few months, its that the face of rap is changing. More and more white people are going to rap concerts and putting the latest hip-hop on their iPods. And as the demographics of fans have changed, so too have the artists. Huey Mack throws his hat in the ring as another talented, young white kid trying to make it in the rap game. Check him out.
