Drake + Bodyguard Involved in Fan Altercation
Send this man to jail!! Ha, kidding. The story goes that two fans came up to Drake after a show which lead to an altercation between the two fans, Drake. One of the fans ended up in the hospital. I will admit I’m not one of Drake’s biggest fans but there is no way this is the whole story. Since when would an artist go out of his way to beat the crap out of a fan? Rap-Up says the following…
After the show, two fans claim that they were merely showing their appreciation for Drizzy when the rapper and his bodyguard got physical, pushing them away and spurring an altercation that sent one of them to the hospital.
“Before I got to say his name, [his bodyguard] punched me in the mouth and I fell back,” said Jeremis Perez Soriano, who ended up with six stitches on the left side of his mouth. “These are the same people that are buying your CDs. You shouldn’t treat us like that.”
His female friend, who was first pushed away by Drake, maintains that there was no physical contact on their behalf. “He never put his hands on Drake, he never put his hands on the security guard. He never even made a fist to hit the security guard for the security guard to come and hit him that hard,” she said. “Drake went to get on his bus and he flicked me off in my face and was like, ‘F you, you’re nothing.’”
Soriano is currently seeking legal advice and plans to file suit against the hip-hop star. He says he doesn’t want much, only reimbursement for his medical bills.

From all the leaks from QuEST, I have to say this track along with “We’re Goin Down” are my two favorites. I’ve had this song for about two days now and it continues to grow on me. Listen to it a few times before you rate it/download it and I’m sure it’ll grow on you too. Real solid lyricism mixed with a great sample (not sure who it is?). Overall pretty solid track from QuEST.

If any of you actually read the news (which you should), you knew this was coming.

Lil Wayne Has Heard Kanye’s Album
As we reported yesterday, Kanye’s album got a tentative official release date. However, in a recent in interview with Rolling Stone Kanye revealed in a recent visit to Rikers to visit a one, Dwayne Carter, he rapped his entire album. So, let me get this straight, Kanye sat there fro 45-60 minutes rapping as Wayne just listened? I guess that could be considered excitement in jail. Except below..

This song is one of my most played of the week so figured it should get up here. Shawn Collins raps and sings over a very smooth hip hop beat with strings and piano in it that changes throughout the song. It goes from calm and piano driven, slowly building to a climax with electric guitar and some strong singing. Also I am realllly enjoying the Wizard of Oz theme/references throughout the song . Im not the hugest fan of the movie, so I duno why I really like it.. but i do.. ha… ENJOY!

G.O.O.D. Friday canceled this week
I have taken the liberty of making this a featured post on the basis of how huge it is.
Read the pictures. No G.O.O.D. Friday this week. We are another blog to blame just like the long list of the rest of blogs that posted his song “Lost In The World.” I put that post in the trash, where I hope it remains. Everyone and their grandma has heard the song and downloaded it by now. To the hackers, thanks for sharing the songs, but it’s not cool that you leaked a song of an artist that has been so generous with us the last several weeks giving us good new music every Friday. I hate unfinished songs. Leaking unfinished songs is not cool. The song is always much better in its final cd quality form. And to those that have to tag the song with such shouting and nonsense, go jump off a cliff. I’m as excited to hear a new song before it comes out like the next person, but because of these leaks, we lost a new song directly from Kanye this week. We’re lucky it’s just this week, though. Hopefully, Kanye will still release as many G.O.O.D. Friday songs as he intended.
Despite all the sadness Kanye has about the leaks, he still manages to work hard to provide his fans with his talents:
I’m in the studio or editing suite every night to 3am finishing the film and the album or practicing for my SNL performance… We’ve got 4 engineers mixing the album to finish it as soon as possible.
Please don’t ruin it for the rest of us. Quit hacking emails. We all lose when that happens. This is for all the douchebags!

NFS World September 28th Maintenance Window & Release Notes (Patch 4.11)
Purpose:
The purpose of this maintenance window is to deploy the server / game patch 4.11; Release note below.
Duration:
Two (2) hours
Start: 20:00 hrs (8:00 PM) PDT
End: 22:00 hrs (10:00 PM) PDT
Affected Users:
During the maintenance window, the servers were offline and users were not able to log in and play Need for Speed World. Players who are already logged in and playing NFS World will be diconnected from the server and therefore, disconnected from the game.
RELEASE NOTES:
NEW
- Race Now: This new feature can be found in the center of the gadget bar and allows players to matchmaking into the next available multiplayer race from anywhere on the map.
- Tutorials: A new tutorial system has been added at Levels 1 to 3 to help players familiarize themselves with all the features of Need for Speed World.
- Additional cars have been added in-game:

Rap-Up has learned that Kanye is scheduling a November 22nd release date. Kanye will have to share the spotlight These artists will have to share the stage with Ye, as they are scheduling releases the same week, Ne-Yo (Libra Scale), Flo Rida (The Only 1), Nicki Minaj (Pink Friday), Akon (Akonic), and Lloyd Banks (H.F.M. 2) . Seems kind of odd so many releases the same week right? No, because the Friday of that week if Black Friday aka the biggest shopping day of the year and record labels aren’t stupid. Stay tuned for a title and a tracklist (official, that is).
As for all you ‘G.O.O.D. Friday’ fans, fear not, because Kayne is planning on continuing the tradition until Christmas. Yes, you heard right, Christmas. Oh and he’s hosting SNL again in a few weeks for all of you who care.

I hope that you all are well and as always, thank you thank you thank you for the endless love and support. I think by the time you all read this I’ll be 28 years old… feeling ancient in this b#tch! As for me, I’m good. Awaiting freedom patiently. People often ask does the days feel longer now that the time is getting shorter… I say that there’s 24 hours in everyday. But honestly, I can’t fxckin’ wait! Sorry. Anyway, I’m still playing UNO. Still doing pushups and such, by the way, please don’t expect me to come out looking any different. I’m the same little ‘ol me. Also, I’ve been trying to get as much rest as I can because I know I won’t when I’m out of here. Wait, Aaliyah’s “Let Me Know” just came on the radio! “At your best, you are love”… and I try to always be at my best, for you.
I only listen to slow jams and ESPN. Shoutout to Keith Stewart and Dr. Bob Lee on WBLS, and Lenny Green on KISSfm. That’s all I listen to, other than sports. Oh and if you haven’t heard the new song by Eric Benet, “Sometimes I Cry”, please stop what you’re doing and check it out. Well, after you finish reading this. It’s the best song I’ve heard since Maxwell’s “Woman’s Worth”. It’s for grown folk. I actually listen to the radio all day waiting for that song. Anyway, so back to my fans, you are the best in the world. When reading those letters, you never cease to amaze me with your love. I am forever grateful.
So my kids are perfect. I miss them like crazy! Reginaé, you are the angel of my life. Kam, you are amazing. Neal, you are my little wonderful meatball. And Lil Tunechi Jr., you are so me. I admit, I am not that big into dubstep yet, but it is slowly growing on me. I am not sure if this will qualify as dubstep, or Drum and Bass, or a ‘Pretty Lights’-like remix… or maybe a blend of all those genres but it is something I am really enjoying. Don’t shy away with the title saying it is a Dolly Parton remix, because all you get is about a 5 second clip looped and mixed into the song. I really love the beat, how it changes pace and feel all throughout the song and also really enjoy how they bring the Dolly P hook into it. I fell in love with this song in my car, so maybe that is where you need to experience it to get the full enjoyment that I do, ha. Enjoy!

Incomparable Shakespeare has been working on a project with musician/singer/songwriter Jon Solo (the group name will be MIX MSSG.) A lot of times when hip-hop artists link up with singer/songwriters, the singer/songwriter gets molded to fit in the box of “the guy on the chorus”. Shakespeare and Jon Solo are heading in a much more collaborative direction, often blurring the boundaries and stepping into some new, very promising territory. If this is a sign of things to come, we have reason to be excited. Very cool sound.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, President Obama elaborated on the news that he likes a little Jay-Z in music diet. Let’s just say his hip-hop taste has expanded..
What music have you been listening to lately? What have you discovered, what speaks to you these days?
My iPod now has about 2,000 songs, and it is a source of great pleasure to me. I am probably still more heavily weighted toward the music of my childhood than I am the new stuff. There’s still a lot of Stevie Wonder, a lot of Bob Dylan, a lot of Rolling Stones, a lot of R&B, a lot of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Those are the old standards.
A lot of classical music. I’m not a big opera buff in terms of going to opera, but there are days where Maria Callas is exactly what I need.
Thanks to Reggie [Love, the president's personal aide], my rap palate has greatly improved. Jay-Z used to be sort of what predominated, but now I’ve got a little Nas and a little Lil Wayne and some other stuff, but I would not claim to be an expert. Malia and Sasha are now getting old enough to where they start hipping me to things. Music is still a great source of joy and occasional solace in the midst of what can be some difficult days.

Well, the first “CDQ” version of this track left me a little disappointed. After waiting two painful hours filled with horrible jokes by Chelsea Handler for Ye’s performance at the VMA’s this year, I was left with my jaw on the floor and the urge to immediately download the song “Runaway”. A day later that track came out, but without the sampling… two and a half weeks later, the finished studio mastered track comes out with the finish product sounding perfect. Enjoy the track how it’s supposed to be enjoyed now!

Shad’s promotional team is making sure that at least all of the ‘net is damn well aware that his fantastic TSOL record is dropping in the U.S. soon. We posted last month that he’s hitting the road with fellow Canadian hip-hop act k-os and just last week he dropped off the stylish video for “We, Myself & I.”
And today we have a remix to what might be the album’s best track, “Rose Garden,” which also has a video out there. Gone is Shad’s epic opening verse — a personal favorite — and in its place is the first guest feature. Von Pea, of Tanya Morgan, sounds right at home on the soulful, uplifting production and hits his stride about halfway through before giving way to the hook. He’s followed by Shad, who drops a brand new verse littered with inspiring lines and witty punch lines — “I don’t want to hear no whinin’ unless CeCe sings.” Pea’s Tanya Morgan-cohort Donwill shows he’s no slouch either as he rounds out the track with hard-hitting bars and plenty of attitude.

Back from his liquid cocaine (which I didn’t even know existed…) arrest, I’ll let TMZ do the talking…
He pled guilty on Friday to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree (how many degrees are there?) and was sentenced to two days of community service. He also has to stay out of trouble for the next six months.
