OnCue – Daddy’s Money (feat. Casey Herlihy) (prod. CJ Luzi)

A collab too legit

Here’s my favorite track from OnCue’s mixtape, Cuey Sings The Blues, even though the whole mixtape is filthy. Well, Casey Herlihy and Cuey made a remarkable collab, working unbelievably well with CJ Luzi’s production (check out his website) of the sample of Phoenix’s “1901.” A great sample was used, but Casey is soooo dope on the hook, as well as Cuey telling a great story while rapping. Even though the Phoenix sample was used, shout out that outro they did in the song, as well, which becomes really chill with a lot of feeling starting at 3:54. There’s no Phoenix samples in the outro, and that’s the part that really made the joint visionary to CJ Luzi. Oh, and if you missed the last feature on Casey Herlihy, I’m ashamed of you. Peep his cover of Cuey’s “Crashing Down” right here. Hopefully, in the near future we could hear some cdq’s of the covers he has made. He’s getting in the studio soon to release some original shit; rough versions should be out soon. Become a fan of Casey on facebook.
